PERIOD. asked me to design a social media campaign to promote a Virtual Road Trip. The content highlights the work of their chapters and PERIOD. activists.
PERIOD. is a youth-fueled nonprofit that strives to eradicate period poverty and stigma through service, education, and advocacy. PERIOD.'s service program distributes both reusable and disposable period products to a network of over 350 organizations who directly serve menstruators in need throughout the US and world. PERIOD.'s 400+ chapters work to eradicate period poverty within their own communities through product drives and distribution events.

Process
For the Virtual Road Trip series, we created a campaign identity system full of fun animated illustrations.
After defining a color palette, font system, and developing a logo, we created illustrations, infographics, banners, and easily customizable content templates for different chapters and destinations. To allude to the theme of travel, I developed a series of cheeky transportation stickers made out of menstrual items.
The Toolkit
The Planet-Positive Periods Toolkit is an accessible, comprehensive source of information and research about the environmental impact of different kinds of menstrual products.
Planet-Positive Periods is the outcome of a new and powerful creative partnership between the sustainable brands Aisle, Green Periods and the nonprofit PERIOD. This toolkit is a new suite of up-to-the-minute research and resources about sustainability and menstruation, all in a free, open-source format available to anyone. Their collective vision was to create a suite of tools for students to take an intersectional deep dive into the sustainability ins and outs of period products.
Details
The Planet-Positive Periods Toolkit is a presentation designed for educational purposes, so engagement and readability were important factors.
The typography style is straight-forward and composed of a bold extended grotesque and a minimalist sans serif typeface. The color palette is eco, relaxing, and muted. The visual style is trendy yet alludes to the brand identity of all three partners. A series of custom vector illustrations engage the viewer, and a series of icons signals key points and questions in the text. The shareable toolkit is available here.
